Wellcem was recently presented with a challenging job of re-establishing the integrity in an annulus offshore in the small yet oil-rich sultanate along the northern coast of the island of Borneo, Brunei. We promptly engineered an innovative rigless solution with a tailor-made resin to remediate failed annular cement. The resin travelled approximately 2000 m deep by gravity and to the top of cement in the B-annulus where it sealed up a troublesome fluid in-flow to our customers delight and our absolute satisfaction.
